Hello all,

Been reading threads in here,lots of information about transfer box,but haven't seen a similar question. So my Powershift broke. Second time I a year. So instead of fixing it again we are thinking of doing a manual gearbox swap. Should be straight forward. We have found 4wd manual box but the question is about transfer box. Would a transfer box from my Powershift fit manual gearbox? Or should we buy the one that comes with manual gearbox? As far as I looked part numbers are similar to both boxes. Wondering it there will be no issues and the need to change transfer box,prop shaft and rear diff in the process as this would not be financially viable solution. Apologize for my English. It's not my native language

Just be aware that
euro 6 was introduced September 2014.

If you do the conversion to manual you will be the first. We have one member who successfully fitted a euro 6 powershift gearbox to a euro 5 engine but involved some engineering. He may be able to offer advice on some of the parts you may need.

@keithmac - any thoughts.

Conversion like this is quite common in my country and actually not that expensive. Just change the gearbox,add pedals,gear switch,some cables,cv joints, new clutch disk if needed and reprogram the ECU with a help from Ford electrician. The chassis is already prepared for manual and have all holes and holders in place by default. I know that someone in UK other forum did Fiesta swap. Although it was 2wd. And 2wd is really easy. But with 4wd is a bit more tricky because of additional parts,like PTU and so on. Manual gearbox is from Euro 5 identical 2l 103kw TDCI engine. Using logic transfer box should be identical,but hey - this is FORD we are talking about 😁

Looks like you have all the bases covered.

Well except the question about the PTU. If that box is different the swap becomes financially unreasonable. And all I have left is a salvage which I could sell.for 4500 euros max. When paid above 10k last year and fixed that **** PS transmission for another 2k euro. Total refurb and it broke down again after 15k km 😕

So the update would be that PTU is the same for both auto and manual models but it goes into a different place on the gearbox. Which means the Prop shaft also needs to be changed. And some parts that hold it. Generally decided it was not worth the hassle and money to do the transfer. Another option they offered was to make it 2wd and manual but its not what I need. So since nobody wanted to buy this car for 4500 euros I got it to the garage and they gonna fix the **** gearbox. Gonna strip it down,replace clutches,retainers,springs,filters and oil. All new parts. Since they fix a lot of these gearboxes they put some sort of special stronger retainers in there so it should hold longer (hopefully).
