Hello @Nforcer , you still have the old style gearbox, the new style flywheel and gearbox doesn't fit the old engine (without a significant amount of work).

The TCU is also different between the early and late gearboxes.

@keithmac thanks alot for the reply, unfortunately i was waiting the good news =))) but it is what it is, i just changed the oil on it and hopefully everything will be alright considering the car had the gearbox changed but still the mileage on it is crazy ( 420 000km ) so i expect it to fail

@keithmac just done the oil and filter at ford workshop, and i plan on doing it every 30k, maybe i it will last even more, they were also impressed, i am impressed but cannot think but that i will have to rebuild it again in the future... but yea, 420k with history at Ford Holland, i bought it from a guy who didn't knew that, by the way, if i do the forscan adaptive relearn, will it help get more life out of it?

Hi again! Now small problem again. Just noticed that when starting to drive uphill ( start mid of hill ) car starts to jerk first. After second or two car goes smoothly. Is that clutch disk problem or something else ?

Sounds like it's struggling to apply the even clutch correctly, is it still knocking as per your previous post?.

No, that sound disappeared quite soon. Don't know what it was. It's been working very well last 30000 km's. But today noticed this first time. I didn't change friction plates when I changed springs and clips so started to think are plates finished ?

To be fair at that mileage I think you've got your money's worth out of them!.

Can't remember if I've ever seen a stack height for the clutches but to be honest you may as well just fit new plates at that mileage regardless.

I don't know what is was thinking when I didn't change those at same time as other parts  I had heard stories of 450000km driven cars which were ok so maybe I thought plates lasts even springs not. Well..at least I know now how to proceed because have done that once. I'll try do calibration once again and if that won't help I think I need to open gearbox again. And of course will check oil level. Thx for replying!

I don't know whether the TCU has an inbuilt fail-safe to protect the gearbox or the Clutch Boost part of the learn procedure is just the final straw for the clutch pack?.

Mine was in a right state but still survived a clutch and gear learn, to be fair not long after the last one it totally lost drive and reverse (but it was already on it's way out).
