These are available on line for around £27, On entering my Registration number a Kuga is shown but I am a bit suspicious the Manual Available is not for my specific vehicle as it shows 2016 - on.
Has anyone purchased one of these manuals for this model of car ?

Like a number of others on the forum I have had a fair number of Hard copies of car workshop manuals, even for some vehicles that I did not own, just found it interesting reading them so I am not really looking for something specific.

However there is something you might be able to help me with, when I was buying the touch up paint yesterday I enquired about a item in the engine compartment but despite entering my reg number the part was not showing up on his screen.
In the engine compartment there is a point that you can attach jump start leads to, the live contact point is covered by a small red plastic cover that clicks into place, in my case that cover is missing. Any thoughts as to where I might get one or a part number.

Thanks

If that's a ford part then it will have an engineering code stamped on the underneath. Four digits followed by five or six digits followed by two or three digits.

Perhaps one of our PHEV owners can take theirs off and check. Ford should then be able to cross reference that engineering code to their Finnis part number. My Ford dealer told me there wasn't any mud flaps available for our Puma yet I sourced them from a ford dealer on eBay.

I have this one in Hard copy and online. It's a standard proper full strip down Haynes manual with all servicing/maintenance/repairs etc. Even though it so far seems an easy car to work on and loads on youtube i find the manual very useful. Hope this helps.

Thank you for having a look around for that item.
I did try a couple of breakers yards on eBay but none replied to me, possibly not worth their time for what the thing was worth.
Thing is though is it non essential ?
This is where you connect the positive lead to jump start the car so I assume this is a constant live point.
Unlikely but if anything touched this point and earth it would cause a spark and possibly short out something .?

You are correct.
I find it odd that this part does not show up when the spares dept at the local ford dealership could not find it.
In all fairness he did spend some time looking on the screen diagram for it.
So no spare part and by the looks of it no Haynes workshop manual for the Kuga PHEV 2.5 MK 3 :(

I had a look through here yesterday (MK3 Parts Catalogue | Ford Kuga Owners Club Forums) and concluded "not available".

A breaker will come up trumps at some point. Just search eBay for "CX482 Breaking" and/or "Kuga MK3 Breaking" and find anyone with a Kuga MK3 being broken up.

Or... Just make your own cover out of tape/hot glue/sugru/a cover off another car butchered to fit.

Or... go poke around a dealership and borrow one.

@Gregs24
That makes a lot of sense, as you say with a workshop manual it would not be long before someone either set the car on fire or got badly burnt or worse.
In these days of litigation Haynes would possibly get sued for producing the thing.
On the other hand I have seen breakers yards selling phev batteries and there are YouTube videos of how to change one so manual or not someone some day will have a go.
Of course a PHEV battery on its own would make an excellent power bank….;)

If you think Ford parts are expensive there are MUCH worse!

The problem is Ford (and all car makers) have to keep a supply of parts for vehicles in production, including storage, for an considerable and unspecified length of time. Eventually they shift them on to third parties but storage of random parts for a long time doesn't come cheap.

I managed to find a new old stock part the other day for a 1958 Corvette, that has been hanging around somewhere for about 65 years waiting for somebody to buy it!

You have got the word ‘Rob’ right.
Like others on the forum with a PHEV I am awaiting the fix so when I get that done will call in to the spares dept and get that item unless I happen to be near the dealers before that date.
In any event I will certainly post the price on here unless it’s above my credit card limit. :)

We needed a bonnet clip for one of the transits
Nothing special
Ford……..£21.99
EBay……..£2.90 delivered

Although I was half tempted to go in our local dealer as seen Castrol 0w-30 for £120ish for 20litres on Ford’s website

So don't I, but a friend does, and based on your post I'm considering having him make one clone of this tiny cover for me as a backup in case I lose it, too... (I'd have to refresh my 3D modeling skills, though ;))

There's a buy and sell section in the forum.
