My FHEV offers me a fuel range when full of about 700 miles

 

The FHEV has a 54 litre tank, Whereas the PHEV has a 45 litre tank. That’s 20% bigger, hence the apparent higher range between the 2.

 

It "learns" from your driving behaviour.
Heavier feet get shorter ranges (EV and ICE).
Lighter feet longer.
Road types and temperatures all come into play as well.
Not to mention why you would want to trust any figure, aside from the Speedo and odometers, that Ford gives you?

 

Im getting between 600 to 700 miles (depending on my driving style)

Was you old Kuga a FHEV also or a PHEV. As I mentioned above the FHEV has a 20% larger fuel tank Than the PHEV.

 

Never had a sub 400mile range on my PHEV, typically 430-450.

On a long journey this tends to creep up as constant speed gives better mpg.

Back from East Anglia, thought the 515 petrol range was an aberration. Noted milage at start and then on return.

Range at start adding the 34 from battery was 549!
Got home remaining range (no battery of course) 145 and 396 miles covered on trip.

Total - 541. Not too far off the range indictated at the start.

Normally don't really pay too much attention to economy just drive the thing.

 

On a mixed use of one long motorway + regular+ 3 full charges, I got 400miles from a full tank and expected range was about right.
Fill up yesterday and quoted range dropped to 189 miles, but seems to be creeping up and down.
Do I have a fault?

 

Tank doesn't seem full anyway (from the image).
But a) that's only Ford's number and their 'numbers' are not accepted as real in mathematical circles by any way, shape, or form.
b) the vehicle 'learns' from driving patters/history so the more heavy-footed will get a lower predicted range in future.
c) have you just had a recall? I just had one and it reset some modules, which affected and revised the fuel range left in my tank (down).

That's the odd part. It only allowed just under 40L of ⛽ fuel till the filling nozzle clicked. Did some 20miles yesterday and it's gone up 204.
It's my 2nd week with the car. I'll see what the figure is at the end of this tank or it's back to the dealer.

 

I've seen 500+ range on mine with full tank and no battery range. Last fill up was just shy of 43L.
