Hi my 02/2023 kuga hybrid 3l auto had its oil changed at 5k due to the oil life indicator being at 0% despite the car not needing it for 2yrs, that was 6 months ago and the oil indicator is at 50% with 11k on clock the dealer told my wife the reason the oil needed changed was due to it being driven on the battery most of the time but is that not the point of the hybrid and the most after a 100mile trip its says 23 miles of battery use any one any help regarding this please

Loads of short journeys (and 5K in a year would indicate that) will see you tear through the oil life indicator.

Moved to the correct section as no questions are permitted in the 'welcome' thread.

Please put details of your car in your signature as requested in your welcome email message.

PS there isn't a 3L Kuga, so assume that this is a typo.

Sounds wrong to me.
Mine is 1 year old at the end of this month, done just under 7k miles, most on electric & has 53% oil life on the readout. However, if the 2.5l engine fires up for a very short time, and is not allowed to warm up it won't do the oil any good. It's like using a petrol only car to do a few hundred yards to the shop and back i.e. the engine oil never warms up and a lot of condensation can build up.
