ecall malfunction message

Hi
I got a message flashed up today - ecall malfunction service required. Clicked OK on steering wheel and message went away and so far has not come back. The light on the console seems to be doing what it is supposed to do and I tested that a message was being sent and cancelled before it connected.

Has anyone had this and is it going to need dealer attention?

There was practically no 2G, 3G, 4G or 5G in many parts of North Wales last week with 02. Ironically there was some service outside the 02 shop in Llandudno and next to the mobile tower at the top of the Great Orme but that was about it.

There is a beautiful little village between Cardigan and Dinas Cross called Nevern.
It sits in a natural 'bowl' and, until two years ago had absolutely no mobile coverage on any network. Bliss unless you had an emergency. The solution until a new mobile mast was camouflaged into the landscape........add a second phone box opposite the church!

Ring a dealer and ask if it’s a known problem for your model year

Below recall relates to 2022 Kuga which affected 9388 vehicles

Thanks for the pointer.

However, the message has not reappeared so far and the warning light on the console is doing wh at its supposed to do. Pressing the button gives a voice message that a call is being placed, and press again to cancel.

I wonder if it was a connection glitch to the Ford system.

I got exactly the same message about 6pm yesterday! Did exactly the same, pressed OK and it went away!
I wonder if Ford's were just doing a test on the system?
It seemed odd and out of the blue!
I had a similar issue with a 70 plate Skoda. The dealer said it was a known problem and was something to do with losing the signal due to 5G masts being erected in the area. Not sure if that's BS but sounded plausible

Hello! I have now a systematic ecall error message displayed on the screen, each time I start the vehicle.
Dealer wants to replace the TCU module, but I am note sure if really is the right approach. Kuga is not in warranty anymore, so it would be on my own cost.

Maybe it needs the TCU battery to be replaced and that is call - do you have any experience with this?

thank you
