Did my update today and yes Maps updated to F7, at last. smile_big:

Was about to turn off the Kuga, but noted that after the update is complete it puts up a notice to automatically turn off to save fuel, so I let it do its thing and countdown the last 30 seconds to turn off, once shutdown I then removed the USB. However checked my USB later and found no XML file, just like Stevie9398:
No XML file generated again. 32GB Cruzer Blade formatted as exfat on windows 10.
I accept that many cases of this could be down to user error, removed too early, FAT instead of exFAT.
Strangely my USB stick used is a 32Gb SanDisk Cruzer Switch and was fully reformatted (not quick) to exFAT, which took more than a few hours to do and then I copied over all the Map Update files as they should be, unzipped first, which all worked for the map update.

So is there an easy way of regenerating the XML, or have I got to go back through the pain and time this thing takes ? This looks to be a common issue.sad:

PS And Ace was going to borrow your XML file and update but that dropbox link previously posted appears broken (404 error).
 
****, just done a quick a check of the SyncMyRide Folder on the USB and guess what its properties are Read Only. surprise:

Therefore for everyone else can only suggest checking the Folders properties before applying the update to your vehicle. See attached, un-tick Read Only.

I'll have to run this update again to see if it makes a difference, with a longer journey required later this week.

I re-arranged the folder structure of my entire Dropbox so the link isn't valid anymore. Send me a PM with your email and I will send it asap ;)

Thanks for the recent email Anthony, all done and uploaded, now just going to give it time to see if Ford recognise it ok

I just tried to goto the UK Ford website to Bluetooth & sync support -> Sync and maps updates , but menu option is gone? Is this a Regional thing, or do other UK users also have this problem.

I had to visit the danish Ford website to find the menu option back at bluetooth and sync support, and i got my VIN updated with latest maps file.

Strange that Ford UK removed that option?

Just tried the site to see if my xml file uploaded, nothing working, whole site is down

No, it's gone for everyone on the UK site.


It simply is not there anymore!!!!
Well, if people needs to update with a status XML file, the danish Ford website is the same in menus although other parts in danish, but the one you need in owner(ejer) still got the sync&bluetooth options to upload, but you cannot use it to find firmware, it will just report, all is good.
 
Here in Italy… no news. Italian Ford website still does not show any chance to check/update maps. It just allows to check/update the Sync3 system.

But, as far as I see (just checked the Ace's link), the Greek one behaves the same...

Just been back on site to see if records have been updated since xml file upload, and same as Anthony, my car now DOES NOT HAVE SYNC, what a **** company Fraud is
 
The Ford NL site does have something they call a Logboekbestand - a log file - which you can click onto after

inserting the USB so looks like we gave it .

It's kind of a relief for me to know that I'm not the only one whose Sync pulled a Hudini...

Sent email to Ford tonight asking why my ST Line now “does not have sync”, i await with the reply baited breath!!
 
Have sent similar email to Ford Greece since last Friday, still haven't received anything except the automated reply surprise:
Just received a reply from Ford, they say it's a system error, i.e. site gives wrong message, instead of the usual "there is no available update".

It should be corrected "as soon as possible" (exact wording).
