While awaiting collection of our PHEV and having duly introduced myself in the appropriate forum, I've been (over)thinking the charging options. We'll certainly start with the granny cable but I've got a local electrian popping in next week to quote for fitting a box.
Thanks in advance
Terry
- I read plenty online that says the granny cable is not really a permanent solution yet my dealer says many PHEV customers use it solely.
- I get that slower charging ought to be better for the battery and if I'm charging overnight, the difference beteen three hours and seven hours seems irrelevant.
- I also read that 13a sockets (and plugs) can get hot pulling the maximum 10a for hours on end - and that there are third party cables that can throttle this charge rate further to 6 or 8 amps.
Thanks in advance
