Hello I finally have delivery date for my Kuga for next Monday- hooray!
I understand its going to come with one 3-pin cable (which is 7 meters?)
I have a detached garage with power sockets internally but I dont think I’ll be able to get the car inside it to charge as the garage is quite narrow woth lots of stuff inside (stupid modern building!)
so I was thinking about having the car on the drive and passing the charging cable under the garage door, connecting to standard plug socket inside the garage.
please be gentle on me if this is a stupid question but is this feasible? Is the 3-pin charging cable safe to use outside in wet weather?
This is my plan B. plan A was to get a wall box but British gas had a virtual look at our set up over video call and refused to install one for us saying groundworks needed to be done to do a wallbox to a detached garage. Im not convinced of this- in the garage we have a solar PV battery, fuse box and several standard plug sockets, youd think it was the perfect set-up.
Plan C will be buy a public charging cable and charge at local park and ride that I use for work but id much rather charge off our solar/battery generation of course if I can!
thanks!
