Mpg between petrol and diesel

Hi all, I currently have a 2.0 tdci 148 bhp titanium, but possibly looking at changing to a 1.5 ecoboost petrol st-line. Does anyone have one and what mpg are you getting? Mines currently on about 82,000 miles and averaging 38.4mpg.

Any help and info is much appreciated šŸ‘šŸ»
I did exactly what you are thinking about. Had the diesel for 4 years. Great until I started getting engine malfunction issues related to the throttle body. This was replaced and same issue (car reported an air flow issue, new MAF sensor didn’t work, next suggestion was turbo issues so I called it a day and sold it) The master Ford tech couldn’t find the issue and I wasn’t prepared to throw more money at it. . Yes, the petrol doesn’t have the torque but it’s quick enough. Getting 30mph around town. If you are not doing long journeys I’d definitely get the petrol. Fuel is cheaper and as some have said on a long run I’m getting around 48mpg. The issues with the eco boost engine were fixed in 2018.
