Master Reset is always the first choice with things like this, it clears the cache out & normally fixes any bugs like this.

I'm not sure if you've performed a Master Reset before but it's not as bad as it sounds, only means you'll need to re-pair your phone and add any Sat Nav favourites.

 

Mine will not tune in whilst in my garage or on my drive due to my estate and house location, we are in a “dip”, even our Tv aerials are taller than normal, however it will tune in when I am in a more open area, strangely, once tuned in reception on my drive and in garage is fine and I have to do it after every update.(MK2 facelift with sync3.4)

 

I did the master reset but it made no difference.

Reception is fine where I am and I can still listen to and switch between the DAB stations I have stored as presets, it just doesn’t let me access anything to do with tuning.

Interestingly FM tuning works ok so it’s just DAB.

 

Have you tried ensemble + and - button for some reason they call the station blocks ensemble

 

When I press the Stations button on the main listening screen I get a popup saying No stations found. I don’t even get the option of ensembles, the entire screen goes blank with only a back button.

 

Its a new car, get dealer to sort it

 

Did you manage to find a fix for this? Exactly the same thing had happened to me today.
I’ve done a master reset but that hasn’t changed it.

Out of interest, what version of sync are you using? I have 3.4 Build 20136. I wonder if it’s a software bug?

Not sure, I updated a month ago but now whenever I check my VIN on the SYNC update page I just get “Please try again later”. Been like that for weeks.

I get an update is available. I will download it and install and see what happens.

 

20136 had a few bugs in it (notably one to do with USB playback) but 20282 is much better. It may help doing the update (doesn't take very long). If it can play pre-set stations it doesn't sound like a hardware problem.

 

I’ve downloaded and successfully installed the update - I’m now on 3.4 build 202082 but still no list of DAB stations showing and exactly the same thing as before “no stations found” and then blank screen with only the back arrow. Guess it’s a trip to a Ford dealer to get them to sort it.

Appointment got rescheduled to next week as they were short staffed. Really disappointed as want it sorted!

 

So took the car in this morning, they checked it in then the dealer went out the back to to chat to the tech guys. He came back and asked if I had a dash cam (I do). He said that’ll be the issue and that it's is a common problem with cams interfering with the DAB signal and they’ve had a few Kugas in recently with the same issue and the dash cam was the culprit.

His recommendation was to remove the dash cam and see how it goes for a few days. He said they can’t do any investigation until I’ve done that as to test further with the cam fitted would be out of warranty. He also said moving the position of the cam can sometimes make a difference.

To be honest I’m not convinced as it wasn’t an issue on my Focus or on the Kuga when I first fitted the cam, but I’ll give it a go over the weekend and see how I get on.

 

I think they are talking rubbish! I don’t have a dash cam or any other device fitted. I’ve tried it with and without phone connected and it makes zero difference

 

In fairness, a poorly installed dashcam or even a poorly shielded mobile phone charger can ruin DAB reception. To prove this I removed the 'guilty' charger and DAB reception was restored. Simply plugging it back into the 12v socket was enough to affect the Kuga's 'delicate' reception. There was a very long and well- researched thread on this elsewhere on this site. I resolved the issue by fitting a number of simple wrap around ferrite 'chokes' and have had no problem since doing this.

 

I unplugged the cam’s 12v charger and even removed the camera from the windscreen but it made no difference. I’m guessing if there was interference this should have sorted it?

As with @Leylo, DAB reception is fine, all preset stations work and I can scroll through stations using the hardware FWD REV buttons, but the on-screen “Stations” button returns no stations and the hardware TUNE button does nothing.

I’ll contact the dealer again and see what they say.

 

I have no problem with DAB and got front n rear dashcams, however when I fitted them I fitted 2 chokes near the rear camera as a precaution as the antenna units are in the back, so dont know if a problem exists without them

Swapped to a better brand and zero issues. In all my research though, never seen anyone to have a total loss of DAB, just patchy or limited stations.

I wouldn't be suprised if the issue is elsewhere, possibly exacerbated by the dashcam though.

Could they cause 2 of the 3 methods of tuning the dab to stop working though? The tune button and the drop down available stations doesn’t work (available stations is just blank) but I can tune it ok with the forward and backward search buttons. The issue is with only having that method of finding bad stations is that I just have to keep searching until I find the station I want rather than being able to pick it from the drop down list of available stations that used to work.

 

I too have fallen victim to this DAB error. Not even had the car for a month. Also got a MIL malfunction indicator light error pop up so we be booking on the phone to the dealers tomorrow.
Regarding the DAB error I’ve tried to reset it no difference also notice I have an update available for SYNC . I’ll install but not expecting any difference.
No dash cam installed as well.

 

What is an MIL?

 

I’ve booked mine into the dealer for 12 May for the malfunction indicator lamp. I’ve mention the DAB.
I’ve also tried restarting sync by holding down the off and forward button for 5 seconds.
Still didn’t help.

mine was fixed about two weeks ago Ford had it for two days when I got it back it was fully working but still on the same software version as before so not sure what they had to do to it

 

Master reset will sort it, it clears the cache and you can then reload the multiplex lists.
You will need to re-pair your phone.

 

I’ve done a master reset twice. Unfortunately, still not working

 

Master reset doesn’t sort the problem , I tried it 3 times and it didn’t sort it .
Had to take it in to the dealers to get it sorted out

 

What did they do to sort it?

 

Not sure , they said they had to take the firmware back and install fresh firmware

 

Just got mine back from the dealer, all fixed. They had it about seven hours and did a master reset back to factory settings, though all my customised settings and preset DAB stations were still there. I just had to re-pair my phone and FordPass Connect. Running 3.4 21020 which is the latest version I updated to last week.

 

Mine’s going in this coming week. I’ve done a master reset on the system as per the handbook but I’m assuming that they must do something more than we can do ourselves if they are restring it back to factory settings?
