Brake fluid change

Never had it changed. They should check boiling point and advise on that.

Only required in humid atmospheres which is why they don't make it compulsory. My Ford dealer checks boiling point. If it was ÂŁ100 and if it was required I'd have it done. But there you go.

Its Dot 4 LV (Light Viscosity) in the Kugas.

The brakes are quite complex, ABS and stability control etc.

As for changing the brake fluid, mine was tested at the Ford dealership during a 'health check' at 22 months old and was ok.

I will be flushing and changing mine when I change the brake pads in about 3 months. Damp all the time in Lancashire England!
A two man job can be done in a hour easy. Will report when I do it.

As for the Thread starter: Happyarry: Don't leave it in for 21 years - as per picture attached.

I resurrected a Mk4 Fiesta 1997, been garaged, PASSED the Mot, and it was weeks after we did the fluid.

Top layer - new fluid, the band was rust, water and other foreign stuff, bottom layer old fluid.

Now thats when I had my fluid changed on the Mondeo when new pads were fitted at 48000 and on my First 2013 Kuga at 56000. The My local Ford dealer did them at a cost not worth me getting my hands dirty.
