The engine between the 150HP and 180HP Kuga is believed to be physically identical and the only difference between the two is the mapping on the engine. Fortunately there is a way to change it using only a cheap OBDII adapter.

What you will need:
- A laptop running windows
- An OBDII adapter preferably wired and made for forscan.(Can recommend the vLinker FS USB)
- A forscan extended licence(either trial or paid)
- Turn ignition on, and plug the OBDII adapter in on the car and your laptop.
- Connect to the vehicle through forscan(create a new profile if nescessary)
- Clear current DTC's to see if new ones show up (optional)
- Go to the configuration and programming tab (microchip icon)
- Select PCM Module Configuration (Not the AS BUILT format)
- Make a save file of the options so you can revert in case something goes wrong
- Scroll until you find the Engine entry
- Change the value from "2.0L TDCi DW10F Power Rating 2" to "2.0L TDCi DW10F Power Rating 3"
- Write changes(turn ignition on and off when told) and move to the service procedures tab(wrench icon)
- Select PCM Initialization and run the procedure
- When finished, disconnect vehicle from forscan, remove the cable,turn ignition off, then start the car
- Drive the car for a bit then reconnect with forscan and check for any new DTC's.(optional)
