Hi everyone - The tailgate struts on my 2014 2L AWD Titanium Kuga are very rusty and need replacing - bought some online but they seem too short compared to the old ones. It looks as though if we put on the new ones the tailgate wouldn't open far enough. Anyone found the same issue? Don't understand how they could be rusty either!

I know this a a relatively old post but it would appear you have either purchased the wrong struts or the seller has sent you the wrong ones.

If you have bought genuine ones then there is an engineering code at the top of the strut which reads "CV44-S406A10-AD"

The two last letters indicate a revision but the CV44-S406A10 should always be the same for the strut.

Which part of your struts were rusty, the painted or chrome bits.
