Good day All,
New here and I'm in need of some help please...

My Kuga has just surpassed 300,000 km and has been serviced mostly by dealers, however the last few services they had to tighten the Exhaust Manifold bolts...

Can anyone show me how to do this myself and...
Prevent them from coming loose in the first place...?

What could cause this? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Renier from South Africa

The 2.5T engine has 12 BOLTS with a recommended Torque setting of 24Nm . they are a pain to get to, around an hours work.
If you need new manifold studs the part no is 1386510 with the nut being 1379173

Thank you @Martin1977 for the info! Much appreciated.
Do you or anyone have a Manuel/ instructions / video to share on how to do this at home, and which tools i'll need... what to remove to get to the bolts etc.
Don't want to start the job to find out i need something..
Thank you Renier

There are 2x sets of bolts on your exhaust manifold..

The first set holds the manifold onto the engine (the ones I mentioned above that are difficult) and also a second set that holds your down pipe to the exhaust manifold.

If its simply the manifold / downpipe bolts, thats MUCH easier to fix.. see HERE
If its manifold / engine bolts, I couldn't find any video's. Perhaps increase the bolt torque to 27nM?

I couldnt find any videos for the KUGA , the Focus ST2 225 (XR5) has the exact same engine however. so best off researching that
