i think the kuga is a very safe car - i wont be worried about having a crash in one anyhow... regaless of those results!

Ithink your title is a little harsh/misleading to say the least... more to the point the the xc90 seating system is provided by the same company (johnson controls) who provide ford with thier seating systems... disign structure is the same, apart from being scaled down a little for the kuga... fiesta 2008... same seat design again... i'd like to see a little more data behind that score as it doesnt add up in my book!

Like all these things speed is a major factor!

Put it this way, i'd rather be in a kuga thana citroen!

I agree that the Kuga is a very safe car (just look at the number of start it got with the euroncap crash tests).

but whiplash injuries are a very large, social problem and these tests results are very, very clear.
just read the whole article at the website and the conclusions.
that the seats are factured by a good company and seem to have the same design as seats in other cars however is not relevant in this case.

I hope Ford does something with these results and improves the seats!

speed often has nothing to do with a whiplash injury. that is why good seats are very important.

Applematt, I totally agree with you but this has nothing to do with the seats

Misleading title .. if you ask me . .

BTW: a Kuga gets a better score than an X3, than a RAV4, 1 little point less than a VW Tiguan, than a Suziki Grand Vitara, than a Mitsubishi Outlander..

Oh yes. I know the answer: it is not relevant

Correct, but this is in the general crashtest. This is about the seat wiplash test.
Despite the seats the Kuga still is one of the safest cars in it class

Mine too (or maybe the 2nd week) and will be produced next week (dec. 5th) so the promised adjustments (redesign) will not be in my car

Easy solution dont get whiplash! lol lol lol lol
I have a friends who has it and it definitely is nothing to laugh about.
you normally get it by getting hit by someone else from behind and most of the time there is nothing you can do to avoid it.

seems like you react on every topic even if you have nothing to really ad.
is it just to get the "senior member" status asap
?

mmm, I now see what you do for a living and it all makes sense........................

some people just cannot cope with criticism and then start swearing and calling people names.....
very mature...........NOT!
or maybe this just confirms that I was right
.

I am going be very pleased with my Kuga and I know this is a Kuga owners club (with a lot of enthusiasts) but also the negative point may be discussed!
some people have had problems (or still have) and when tests proove that the seats can be improved to avoid whiplash injuries this may and should be discussed.

p.s. if this forum is for british only, please let me know then I will stop posting.
don't know what your problem with foreign people is.............................

Meant to make the post a little lighter then how you was turning the post into............. Why put a post up saying Kuga seats suck on a Kuga enthusiasts forum?
You make a point of pointing out the worst on what is an excellent motor........... why bother having one if you only whinge about it? Strange but thats probably because of where you come from................ Oh and start your own forum so you can post your crap there in your own country.

Bit of an argumentative stroker you aint ya matey.............. suggest you poke off and go back to under the rock from whence you came.................

I also notice that you post in the same manner to provoke reaction which is not the point of a forum..............

I am sure others will agree as well!

I have owned car clubs over the years and as mentioned in my initial post you moron I have been on the club scene for a number of years and I can assure you that I am not in the habit of posting just to get a post count up lol lol lol

didnt you say that you changed forums from the ST to this because the st guys didnt like you? You need to chill a bit! If some one to ask a question because in his view something is not very well engineered then as an engineer i'd like to hear a comment like that. Thats how we progress. If a mk2 escort was perfect we wouldn't have a focus......if you get my drift? My telling someone to go back to there own country is quite frankly words of a very inexperienced mind. If you feel you must post words of sarcasism then go jog on and start up another car club!
