Hello people I've just put a new outer cv joint on my 62 plate kuga
and I can't get the bottom ball joint back in any ideas

Have you tried putting a jack under the lower arm just beneath the balljoint and jacking it up?

Also, if it's like the Mk2 Focus, the balljoint taper comes in 2 different sizes. Got caught out by this with my son's focus. The over-size taper would go part way in but nowhere near far enough.

Wouldn't hold your breath for a response as the original poster last visited the forim well over two years ago.

However, in case Mrlazy is going to pop back, I found the answer was an 8mm allen key, ground down to an oval shape. Put it in the slot narrow way across, then tap it round 90 degrees with a hammer. Hey presto, one spread balljoint socket - the balljoint will just pop back in.
