hello everyone, i'm new on this forum so forgive me if i write something wrong or if i am in the wrong thread.
i have a kuga 2016 2.0 diesel titanium, and i have 2 issues i would like to solve or know if it is possible to do so:
The first one is that when i reverse my back parking sensors work but they beep only on a very short range and they basically go red when i already hit something (it happend yesterday); so i read online that somethims you can program them and change the "range/sensibility", is this possible? if yes how do you do it? cause i haven't found anything about it.
The second issue is that i can see that on my front bumper there are front parking sensors. Now i'm not an expert and i don't know if maybe they fake but i tested them and they didn't work, so i put my hand inside the bumper from the lower front "grill/window" and touched the both on the front, and it seems to me that the sensors are there but they are not connected to anything; i was wandering if it is possible to just connect them and get them working or if they cant be used at all?
Thank you in advance for your help

Hi @matteocrosi98 and welcome to the forum.

If you wanted to PM me your registration number I can check on ford etis if your car had front sensors fitted at the factory. As far as I know the titanium only had rear sensors as standard. It could be that at some point the bumper may have been changed for one that has front sensors.

On your other issue I would need to check on the configuration sheets I have which are based in sync 3 but many of the settings are the same for sync 2. It's not something I remember reading but it doesn't mean to say it's not there. My sensors go red when about 12" from hitting something. You would need a modded ELM327 and Forscan to make any settings changes. I assume you don't see yours as green then amber then red. I would guess it's perhaps the PAM module that's at fault.

If you can answer davidoff's question above also because if you have just bought the car then the advice would be to take it back to the dealer if it was sourced through one.

Touch the user name at the side of the message and then touch start conversation and off you go. VIN number is best.

Anyone got any lead if it possible to program the sensitivity of the parking aid module?

I get the impression that you’re like to change every setting you can.

Is it hard to live with what the manufacturer has set rather than messing about with settings which then may/may not have a knock on affect with other perimeters.

I'm sorry, but I'm just trying to set up things as i like and for my needs. As i said already "crash very lightly" the car ones cause the parking sensors didn't beep soon enough, so i would like to adjust them for my needs, that's all it is 😅

I dont have front. Like i dont have them by factory, but as the bumper got changed before i bought the car, they replaced it with one that has them but they are not wired in so they are not functionals 😅

So your rears are not factory and the fronts are not connected. So who supplied and fitted the rears. I’ve got a set of aftermarket sensors here brand new in a box I bought for another car and quite frankly they are shite 😉

No, sorry maybe i explained myself wrong.
The rears are factory, but they are the ones that "beep to late".
The front are the ones disconnected that are not factory but got put there when the bumper got replaced.
Hope to be more clear now.😁

If thats the case then they are not Ford spec and probably a cheap Chinese retro fit, only solution is get Ford ones retro fitted or get a reputable fitter to change what you've got, wired up correctly

I think you my be wanting too many changes from the UK approved car. If you wish to move lanes in good time then you should not use the quick "passing indicate" option. Put the indicator on full.
I have driven over 800,000 miles in the past 25 years and always pull out to overtake at least 100m from the car I wish to overtake, if conditions allow.
Drive to the cars abilities not as you would like.
There are many changes available, but the car must comply with the local regulations. Not what you would like.
