Can you please let me know how this turned out as i have the exact same thing just happen to me?

I had thisvyesterday in the frost pulled away and boom then cilck click click
I havevab2 post lift so up she went . No boltsvleft in thevptu and front to resr shaft cv pulled apart and destroyed €990 for a shaft. The front cv is a tiny €30 part Ford robbery
1 lug is gone off the ptu and 2 lugs of the main gearbox going to put it together with 3 bolts and locktite. Might be able to get the shaft repaired at a specialist in Dublin
Ans as they it will then be history ☹😒👿

You may get away with tapping the thread further down the holes and using longer bolts (studs would be better if you can still get the transfer box on after).

I know it was a pain to fit the gearbox with the transfer box still in situ.

Ask your mechanic if he can have a go at salvaging the holes, 3 bolts is not enough unfortunately.

What is anoying is the spare lug on the gear box unused

Should be 5 bolts holding the PTU to gearbox.

Last time I removed the PTU I thread locked studs into the gearbox and secured it with nuts.

The top two bolts are nigh on impossible to fit, studs make it so much easier.

I'm from Norway

2014 2.0 Diesel Powershift 138 hp.

End of okctober, clicking noise. Took it to an approved independent garage, 2 bolts missing, 3 loose. Fixed.
Contacted Ford, but not intrested, car out of warranty and since not taking it to them. I said it poor and I've had all services done at Ford and that they have not checked the car properly.

Last night, disaster again, suspsect the transfer is off again. :-(

The Independent garage assures md that they are going to help a best they can as the guarantee their work and parts. Car goes in tomorrow.

We will see.....

Suspect the worst acually. Will update when I know. See an expensive bill heading my way. Even though the work and parts (new bolts) are under garantee.

Workshop called. Tranfer box loose, mouting ears snapped of. They are getting hold of a second hand transferbox and making an addtionial bracket to streghten box mounting.
Aprrox £1400 fix :-(

Just sent an email to Ford Norway and the Ford dealer I bought the car from and have had several servies at, for their solution and compensation.

Probably get noware with Ford, but worth a try.

They have 5 bolts to hold it onto the gearbox and another bracket to secure it to the engine.

Has it snapped the gearbox mounts?.

One of the gear box mounts, that is being fixed.

Need a new or newer propshaft :-(

Ford just replied, sorry, out of waranty. Pretty much expected that.

Hi,

I am the guy in Australia (Engine Guy) that has been referred to in this Forum. Unfortunately due to Covid, my action against Ford has stalled. Hopefully very soon I will be proceeding with legal action against Ford Australia.

Can I ask if any of you other affected Kuga owners in the U.K are interested in providing details of your vehicles in the hope that we can all get some acceptable solution from Ford regarding this potentially dangerous defect.

Also, someone here in Australia mentioned that there 'may' be an official Ford TSB regarding this issue. I could subscribe (and pay) for access to Ford TSB's, but there wouldn't be much point unless I knew for sure that there was a TSB directly related to this transfer box failure/problem.

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if anyone affected by the problem came forward with some details, who knows, it might help us all get something from Ford
