My 4 week oldKugahad to have a new windscreen fitted today as the original wasn't working and had what looked like cracks in it.

Anyway I go over to pick my Kuga up and lo and behold the sevice manager can't find the keys! He looks in the safe, he looks in the office, we search all over the car, no keys! By this point, half hour later, Im' starting to panic.

I ask the manager was the car door closed and if so you must have opened it, as we had searched itmeaning the keys had to be somewhere nearby.(Being Keyless)I start looking underneath the car, all the way round and still nothing. The manager phoned the technician who had been working on the car, no joy. Hegoes off to deal with another customer so as to move her car. He pulls up along side the Kuga when he suddenly shouts 'there they are!' The dingbat
who had been working on my Kuga had put the keys on the roof underneath the roof rails!!!! When we had both recovered from heart failure I went on my not so merry way home.

Dear o dear KC what a nightmare for you.

It's a bit of a pain for the windscreen to be useless after 4 weeks isn't it. Hope all is ok now.

Hi Graham,
Yes it was to be honest. The car went in to the dealer three times in all. Firstly to check that ithad indeed stopped working, second time to be told they'd sent the wrong screen and thirdly they actually got it fitted then mislaid the keys! One word hopeless.

Thanks for asking everything is fine and working. It did rattle too but thats stopped now.

Still puzzled as to how a new car can have cracks in the windscreen though!!!

I know, i think i'm gonna have to go check mine. I don't think there are any cracks there. Did your windscreen always have cracks in it or was it something that occured over the 4 weeks?

To be honest I didn't really notice anything until I cleaned the inside of the windscreen. It looked as if the residue from all the production line stickers were still stuck on until I tried to rub them off!! I got the sales manager to look at it and he agreed that it wasn't right as he couldn't rub off the marks either.
Funny thing was that the screen was fine from the outside, really smooth but on the inside thats where it was damaged, it all seemed strange to me.

Why wasn't it noticed at PDI?

Just shows you really have to check thoroughly before driving away, because if you don't I'm sure Ford would turn round and say 'sorry we aren't paying for that you drove the car away so we can't prove how it happened'. They actually said that I had damaged the screen with a diamond ring, can you believe that!!Why would I damage my own new car!But it turn out the screen didn't work anyway, so it was replaced. Sorry, bit of a ramble there.

Amazing isn't it the excuses they come up with to get out of taking any sort of responsibility!! Don't they realise how it reflects on the customer service side of things, they just don't care i suppose,as long as they haven't got to pay for anything.

In a way for you though it was a blessing that it didn't work cos it meant they had to replace it without question.

I hope you don't get anymore trouble.....

Up til now, one word 'Brilliant!'
Am so pleased with ole Pixie,i've only done 400 miles but it has been a joy. I can't believe how many people stare at you as you drive along. With it being white she really does stand out too which i think makes others look. My neighbour thought it was a BMW until he came and had a good look. He was very impressed and thought she was a right beast.

I've had all types of cars and have to say the i've never been happier behind the wheel of a motor vehicle....YAH!!

I just hope it contiues.

Yep Ive had the BMW bit too.A long with a few other members.
I haven't seen any White Kugas on the road, they've either been black like mine or in Chill. It sounds like you are really enjoying Pixie. I work at a Wholesale nursery growing Pinks and Alpines, one variety is called Pixie Star, when ever I go to pick some of these I will think of Pixie.

I absolutely love driving the Kuga, though I love driving in general.

It's funny that. My neighbour said exactly the same thing! Magnificent Beast he called her!!

My first car was a MK1 Golf and it was horrendous, apologies to any owners out there, but all my subsequent cars have been Fords. The one car I would have loved to have driven let alone own was a Escort Cosworth. Very hard to find. You tend to only see these at car shows nowadays...

nearest response I had was ' it looks like a focus on steroids' but so far everybody is impressed and I still enjoy driving it. only slight critisism is failure to have blue tooth as standard and lack of bottom end power (sub 200rpm) which a bigger turbo would have cured.

Hey, I had that too, the steroids quip!! I agree with you about the power but I suppose for such a big and heavy car, it needs the shorter gearing to get her moving but once out of 2nd, off she goes......... but at least the Kuga doesn't appear to suffer with turbo lag my new Fiesta was awful going up hills, one minute it appeared to be dying and the next you wereflying!!!!
I'm really pleased you are enjoying your Kuga, I have driven a few Fords and I have to say this one is one of the best ones so far.

I was lucky with the Bluetooth only because the 1st Kuga I ordered, which didn't have BT,

was mistakenly sold to someone else so the next one on the production line, in the colour I wantedwas allocated to me which did have BT plus it didn't cost me anything! It's like the voice control.. I haven't a clue how to use it, if I could give itto you I would.
