Hi,

I'm trying to reset the BMS on 67 plate Kuga however on searching this forum and the likes and using the " press 5 times rear flight switch and then hazard buttons 3 times" to no avail.

Is there anything else I can try?

You could try this, taken by screendump from the owners manual, but haven’t tried it myself

The owner's manual says this:

"After battery replacement, or in some

cases after charging the battery with an

external charger, the battery management

system requires eight hours of vehicle sleep

time to relearn the battery state of charge.

During this time your vehicle must remain

fully locked with the ignition switched off.

Note: Prior to relearning the battery state

of charge, the battery management system

may temporarily disable some electrical

systems."

The implication is that a reset is not necessary, IF the car is kept in the condition listed above for the minimum of 8 hours.

This video shows the method you have tried, sometimes helps when you can see the process demonstrated as in latter part of video

I believe it is rear fog 3 times and hazzard lights 5 times, that works for me and the battery light blinks afterwards.

Is that a quote from your actual manual because in mine it says nothing when changing the battery.

Yes I read that. Not what it says in the workshop manual and the owner's manual I have would seem to reflect the mk1 with it's reference to the audio keycode. It's not applicable on the mk2.

Just Changed my battery in my 2016 Kuga 180tdci stop start 4x4 auto.
Replaced it with an equivalent 75ah Yuasa efb battery and pressed the rear fog 5 times and the hazards 3 times and the bms reset and all is well, no issues, happy days.

Done mine a couple of weeks back after a new battery.

Turn on ignition.
Switch on headlights (dipped beam)
Press foglight 5 times
Press hazards 3 times.

Wait about 10-15 seconds and the battery light blinks a couple of times.
