Hi all,
I have a 2017 2.0 ltr Titanium TDi and have an issue with the airbag warning light coming on. Its been back to the dealer once, and they said there was a loose connection if the passenger side front door pillar, which they checked and found that to be OK .
I have made a call to the dealer to arrange for them to look at it next week, but in the meantime , is there anything I should know or can do to save the journey to the dealer??. In addition, it seems to come on when the air temperature is below 4 degrees - which may be coincidence for sure.

Thanks in advance

This may sound like an extremely daft question but are you sure it's the airbag light. The frost sensor comes on at 4 degrees so at 4 degrees you should have 2 lights on, the airbag warning light and the frost light. If you have only one light on, and it is the airbag light then there is something crossed somewhere and the frost sensor is indicating the wrong light.

Ahh....that explains it... yes ...I do.. get the frost warning and the airbag warning at 4 degrees and below....
Excellent stuff, thanks for that Smartguy, that has saved a headache and guess if I read the handbook that would have helped, but its at home and Im working away at the mo.
Thanks again... appreciated
All the best have a Great Christmas and care free New Year
Cheers Eric

OK.....there is the air bag light under 4 degrees and then what I refer to as a wavy snake light as it were in the main dash board.
I will have a proper look tomorrow and see if I can get an image for ease...

If you Google 'Kuga warning lights' then it will clearly tell you what the lights are.

If the airbag light (little person sitting down with a 'balloon' in the face) does not go off within a second or so of starting the car then you have a serious fault and you should not drive the car until it is rectified.

My airbag light doesn’t come on under 4degrees. Yes it lights up when the ignition is first turned on but goes out when started.
I have I read it right?

OK....think a call to the dealer is in order for sure..
When the ignition is on... obviously all warning lights display. This week however, where temperature down in the South East has been under 4 degrees, the air bag light (man sat down) stays on. It stays on whilst driving, but when driving and air temperature sneaked over 4, the air bag light goes off. Over 4 degrees, it comes on with all the others, but then goes off within seconds as do the others.
As mentioned ...will call dealer tomorrow. Thanks all..

Keep us updated then. The only light I have when 4 degrees or below is the yellow triangle shaped warning sign with ice/snow flakes.

Will do.
I've just booked it on with the dealer for Thursday next week (19th) - so will let you guys know of the outcome.
Seems odd that 4 degrees and below its on and above its off.... as mentioned - keep you posted.

Got to be a link there somewhere, especially as when the air temperature is above 4 the air bag light is off. Also told me not to drive it, as they have no idea what it is... :(

Good advice from the garage. It could be something as simple as two wires touching with the temperature warning circuit 'triggering' the airbag warning or it could (hopefully not) be a fault in the instrument cluster itself.

Fortunately, there are now specialists who rebuild these at around a quarter of the cost of buying a new unit from a dealer.

Just in case:

Just have to wait now - and if it is the cluster , then Ford can cough up as its under warranty until May 2020 so fingers crossed they don't try and duck out of that one

It will be an interesting one to check if it's the cluster if it's not showing any fault codes. I suggest you take a picture of the cluster which shows both the frost light on and the airbag warning light on. Then take another picture when it's 5 degrees or more which won't have any warning lights on. Take both pictures with engine ticking over so you can show a like for like comparison and make sure the outside temperature is visible in both pictures with current milage as well.

Good afternoon All,
After a trip to the Ford Dealer today, the issue of the Air Bag Light turned out to be a dodgy connection under the Drivers Seat, and another turn up, left this morning, air temperature was at 12 degrees and the Air Bag light was on and all the way to the dealer - which I can only conclude, the Air Bag Light and Frost Light showing below 4 degrees may just have been coincidence.
All Air Bag related connections were taken apart, cleaned lubricated and re-connected and the fault has cleared. Im hoping therefore - that this should be the end of it ....
Appreciate all of your comments and advice - thanks to you all that took the time to reply to my initial message
