Hi everone
I know this sounds stupid but: How do I know when my kuga goes into 4 wheel drive should there be a light illuminated? Have I got a 4 wheel drive(AWD) I ask myself or a 2 wheel.
The manual says there should be a indicator light but under 'instruments' in manual it doesnt show it.
I have never owned a 4x4 before, you have probably realised by now.

Any suggestions welcome.

If you can take a look under the rear bumper, you will see shafts leading to the centre hubs of the two rear wheels. If you don't see these, then you have a 2WD Kuga. If 4WD, then you may see the traction control lamp come on briefly when the car is engaging the Haldex clutch, which will also make the rear wheels drive to try and regain traction lost by the front wheels. Usually though you will not have time to look, as you will have all you attention on the road, if the conditions are that bad! The best way to learn about this is to find a loose surface, like gravel or mud, with no other traffic or hazards around. Then just floor the accelerator and see what happens!
