I was due to collect my car from the Ford mechanics today ( new steering rack required which is a whole other story) and the mechanics have just sent me the following text

Hi Shannon, As part of our workshop procedure we wind all the windows down to check for noises when driving the car into the workshop. I have just been made aware that the windows are not going back up. We have checked the battery and it is still at a high voltage. They have found the window master switch has an internal electrical failure and requires replacement also. We can get one overnight for $263

knowing the steering rack is electrically driven is it reasonable to enquire if as a result of installing the rack they have created this additional electrical issue?

I would go to to the garage myself and be checking what they are saying is true. Sorry but I just don't trust most garages and am selective where my car goes for any repair. Ask them to break the $263 into parts and labour.
