hi ive had a problem starting my Kuga 2.0L Tdci of the past week and its getting worse. the engine turns over but it won't fire. I tried to see if it was the glow plugs but they seemed fine. I did know if it was something to do with the fuel pump as it doesn't sound like it priming.

A quick check to test fuel would be to crack open one of the fuel rail nuts and have someone turn the engine over whilst you check for fuel coming out of the loose nut. No fuel means issues further back along the system.

other potential issues include bad battery, bad starter.

I had to replace my starter at around 60k as the solenoid gave up

Addition:
Glow plugs wouldn't inherently stop an engine from turning over; granted it would make it more difficult, but not stop it completely.

When the car refuses to start, is it always the first start of the day? Or any time of the day after a drive n engine off?
