Hello everyone,
I’m new here.
I have a 2008 kuga and I’m having problems whilst driving in most gears.it feels like it’s starving of fuel and coughs and splutters at certain speeds.
Also I’m getting a lot of black smoke out of the exhaust, even more when I start to reverse.
I’m having no luck with the garage at the moment.
I’ve been told DPF has been replaced,as have two injectors been reconditioned.
Also supposedly it’s been to ford for three weeks to correct smoke and spluttering, only it’s getting worse.
Any ideas.
Cheers

This sounds like you have a boost leak, try checking all your rubber hoses for splits it's also normally evident from signs of oil as it gets blown out the split making a mess in the engine bay

Yep a leak after the turbo will cause rich mixture (turbo will "eat" more air which the Air Mass Meter will measure, ECU injects the fuel based on this BUT all the air isn't entering the engine).

Could be a loose coupling, split pipe or intercooler damage.

On my other car we blocked the entry into the manifold and basically pressure tested the system, some garages do smoke tests which is similar.

Find a GOOD independent garage to look at it.
