New screen fitted by Autoglass at their Basildon branch. Very nice fitter, who has done a great job. Seats all covered throughout, and paintwork on the pillars protected. No marks in the paintwork, and he also checked that the heated screen worked whilst I was there.
Now must steer clear of the stones!! |

Side windows are not blue tint, but the front is solar reflect coated so is blue ish in the right light.
New one matches the old anyway.

Had Autoglass back out to inspect the fault in their replacement glass, and they have stumped up for a replacement windscreen. This time they will order a Ford genuine part. Ironically on the way home, the auto wipers began to work, must have been when the fitter fiddled with the sensor!
So just to reiterate the point in a previous post, if you have to get a replacement windscreen, insist on a Ford one, not the Pilkington one, as the sensor holder on this doesn't provide a solid fit with the sensor. |

C2K, The one fitted in mine is a Pilkington screen, but the rain sensor works fine, and so does the heating elements. Maybe the fitting on yours was damaged?
Don't think Ford wouldn't make their own glass anyway. Just badged as Ford so it looks original.

The AutoGlass technican said he'll order a ford genuine part. The sensor holder looked intact, but didn't allow the sensor to make full contact with the screen. Either way they'll fit a new screen and eleminate the wind noise.
