I hear you, I know the feeling of being on the phone to Ford customer services. How Ford are treating honest people that invest so heavily in their products is absolutly shocking. Theres not going to another ford on my driveway ever again if this is the way they treat us.

Big money for solicitors eh, small claims court may be better but never had to do that sort of thing. Confused

I have learnt so much on here so thanks guys!

We should all club together and write to watchdog!

HI folks, I have put details of the water leak problem on Fords Uk facebook page. I have uploaded photos aswell. I have been told yesterday by Ford customer services that because the car is more than 12 months old they cant cover it by warranty.

Spoke to that many people now and passed from pillar to post. People ment to ring back but never do. I think they think you eventually get fed up and do it yourself in the end! May be scared to set a pesident and excuse the pun but 'open the flood gates' once they know people chat on here!!
Waiting for yet another call back a moment.

Got my car back today from the dealer, they have removed the sealant and reapplied it with their own flexible sealant. They had water on the car most of the day with it parked on a slope, before they put the inside back together with no leaks found. They replaced the carpet underlay and cleaned the carpets. As a good will gesture the dealer paid half and I had to pay half on collection.

Ford would not agree that this was their error and accepted no responsibility in their factory applied sealant failing after 19 months. Not the best way to treat customers especially in this day and age when it is so easy to tell so many people about bad experiences and poor service.

Frighteningly unbelievable that Ford should take such a stance. Clearly with the reported number of occurrences it demonstrates that the seal and sealing is unsatisfactory. Having had the experience of dealing with the CEO Ford UK on the simple issue of vehicle location I am not surprised that such poor service exists for Ford owners. I can only encourage everyone to try and contact Ford family members in the US (as yet i have been unsuccessful) and let them know just what poor support Corporate Ford UK feels/gives customers in the UK. Poor performance usually comes from poor leadership at the top.

PS....there is NO time limit on unfit for purpose....it is a design fault /process and as such can be pursued at anytime in the life of the product. Small claims is easy and straight forward just fill out the paperwork and believe it requires a name so use the CEO of Ford UK. When I took YAMAHA to court I used their UK warranty managers name . I won !

I'm sure It's someone's very well paid job to scrutinize areas of the business where they feel they can "get away with spending money" (rpo) Ford have targetted their own warranty to make savings and reduce costs, and curiously despite many other car manufacturers going in the opposite direction by actually extending their warranties to say 5 Yrs, 8 Yrs and even a Life time warranty, Ford's response is No Response, unfortunately like most businesses today Ford are clearly not interested whatsoever in  repeat business because they work on the potential 65 million plus v****ms ideology, which we see increasingly in this Country everyday in retailing,  it's basically a case of ignore your loyal customer base and . . . . Next Please.
