Still waiting to collect my wife's Kuga (Ex Demo, not avail until mid Oct) but in the meantime, and after reading various comments on the forum, am now a little hesitant about the tyres.

Whilst I've already test driven it, with no obvious road noise at the time, I've just been back to the garage to check and can confirm it has 19" Bridgestones on.   Should I be worried?

Oberon you might want to read this thread over in the Technical sub forum of the site as it discusses the specific issue of 19" Bridgstones in a bit more detail: http://www.kugaownersclub.co.uk/forum/19-bridgestone-tyres_topic3919.html

Feel like adding your Kuga pictures to Flickr?

Got 19" Bridgestones on ours and no problems yet..Thumbs Up

Only down side is the cost of replacements as there are not many companies making 19"'s at the moment...

Had Goodyear 18" fitted to the front a few months ago and no issues too date. Now needing to replace rears and have been offered Falkens (think ST901) at good price.  Some owners have reported using these any feedback to performance etc would be welcome Tyre size 235 50 18R 97V

Had two Falken ZE912s fitted this morning - very happy with them.

Much quieter than the GOODYEAR (not so) EXCELLENCEs... £130 each fitted (at Hull Exhaust Centre)...was quoted £360-£400 a pair at other fitters ("and we'll have to order them")

Approve

As a bit of feedback on these Falkens as I have had them on a few weeks now. A bit quieter than the Goodyears (can still hear the GYs grumbling from the back).

I would say that I think that the Goodyears had a bit more grip - I seem to wheelspin a little (just a little) more now when setting off, but seem ok in the wet.

Did a quick search on ST901 and this came up Big smile might afford good acceleration off the line but cornering might be 'interesting'

The tyre might be a Falken ST Z01 Smile different to mine, others have fitted these.

Speedfreak has fitted four ST Z01s

Hi Guys
I have the opportunity to get 2x Goodyear Wrangler HP tyres at a good price.
I have done a quick search but not really found any useful reviews.
Has any Kuga owners fitted these to their cars and if so what is your honest opinion.

Also, what would be a good alternative? I particularly need good wet traction and low road noise.

Thanks!

Hi All,

Need 2 new tyres for my Kuga Titanium(4wd)..235/55/17

The mobile fitter who usually fits my tyres has suggested Matador

235/55R17 MATADOR MP81 CONQUERRA 4X4

as a cheaper alternative to the Conti's fitted from new...got 28K out of them which I think is pretty good.
They are £131 all inclusive and he reckons they're made by continental(google search confirms this) and are very suited to the Kuga.  He reckons cheaper tyres don't suit 4x4's especially the Kuga.

What do you reckon?..any cheaper alternatives?

Hi,

Would appreciate some advice on tyres for my kuga. It's AWD type Kuga, and the current tyres are Pirelli 245/45 R19 W99. I'm replacing with Pirelli Zero Nero 245/45 R19 W98. They are coming in at 120 quid per tyre, fitted. It seems a bit cheap, which is why I'm looking to se if anyone has these fitted on their Kuga.

TIA
