Sorry if this has already been covered but I cant for the life of me find how to install the tuning box I have purchased for my 2010 Kuga 2.0L TDCI 163ps. The supplied instructions say simply attach to the fuel rail but where is it???
I have emailed them but like with most german companies it takes days if not weeks to get a decent reply. Has anyone on here fitted one (its from chiptuning.de) Its a car specific one so comes with the tuning box, a cable with male and female connectors and the detachable led indicator for fitting purposes.
Please can anybody shed any light on where the engine connectors are located for these units.
I have you tubed it, googled it and found no good positive answers and as the car is only 4 days old I really dont want to get it wrong.

Again I am sorry if this have already been covered elsewhere.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

good afternoon and welcome, stormer. i have had one of these boxes fitted
for nearly 2 years here in u.k, product from chip express but i expect similar to yours. have been extremely pleased with it.basically remove engine cover and in front of engine is large rubber inlet
hose.prise off top of hose and look with torch under neath.you will see horizontal alluminium inlet pipe
which the injectors sit on. you will see two connectors which will fit your tuning box, they will only fit
correctly so you can,t go wrong.hope you have small hans!!good luck, let me know how you get on.
peter.

Ok, I just want to confirm 1 thing, I have taken the cover off, am I looking left of centre for the black pipe or is it the one in the front centre fixed with Allen bolts?
Thanks in advance.

Tongue Sorted, just found out mine was the newer engine where the fuel rail is situated under the top cover. It was just a case of moving the clips to one side and hey presto...There was the connection straight in front of me. How  dumb do I feel. Still  it is all fitted now and already the gear changes are massively improved and smoother, and the fuel is already reading nearer to  40mpg after only 9 miles, so hopefully things will only get better.

Thanks for all the advice, I know where to come next time I get a drama.
Wink

Whilst spending far too much time trying to find out who uses who's remaps and which ones are the better ones I noticed talk on insurance. My initial thoughts wondered if these posts should be in a thread of their own? However, I have contacted insurance providers in the past and have been told that the premium will only go up the same percentage as the performance increase.

I.E. 100bhp to 120bhp is now 6/5ths of the original output.

The insurance may also increase by the same amount. So £500 is now £600.

Of course this will differ from insurer to insurer.
