Hi all,
I ordered my 13 pin kit from towequipe for £100 but this did not include the extra loom and relay etc you need to connect up the fridge and charger although on the website it says the £100 kit is all you need.  The pins 9 &10 connected on the 13 pin socket terminates to an open plug this is where the extra loom connects onto for your battery feed and relay i could have snipped the plug off and used other connections plus purchase a relay but decided to keep it all tidy

I contacted towequipe and they said i needed to purchase the extra kit at £25 they agreed to give me discount and waved the postage

Hi Brucekuga,

For your switched live feed to the relay did you tap into the fuse box or did you just connect into any live that was ignition switched.

Cheers

Hi Zeberdy

As mentioned earlier i have just fitted my westfalia detachable towbar and must say it has been the easiest and most straight forward towbar i have fitted.  I am not a towbar fitter but like to do things myself and have fitted the towbars to my previous cars.

The hardest bit was taking the bumper off but that was me being cautous when pulling the bumper away from the sides but if your fitting it yourself just be confident and pull it you won't break any lugs.  In the instructions you get a template for notching out a piece of the silver valance but i ignored that and refitted the bumper with no problem so no cuts.

Cheers

Does anyone have any definitive knowledge as to the standard Ford factory fitted tow bar electric are wired to? Are all 13 pins connected and are pins 9 and 10 connected correctly ? I have my Kuga arriving 7 th Jan with factory fit removable bar and have read various reports of missing and incorrect wiring. Also checked on ETIS and while it shows tow bar fitted there is no mention of ATS

Just fitted a Witter bar to our 'new' Kuga, Thanks to all of you on this thread, it was quite simple in the end, not started the electrics yet as I bought a bar with a 7 pin plug, but the caravan we have left a deposit on had the 13 plug, so have ordered a pre-wired socket from ebay.

HOWEVER as others have said the cut-out recommended is FAR TOO BIG!!! You only need a cut out the size of an aerosol cap!!

To confirm...FACTORY FITTED FORD TOWBARS only do NOT come with pins 9 & 10 connected. They are wired to the plug but not connected to the car. If you fit your own tow bar or have it fitted by a dealer then they WILL be connected

No issues with the bumper? Did you have to remove mudflaps? I am putting a Westfalia on next weekend and the mudflaps and the bumper are what is giving me some concerns.

You got a photo of how close the valance comes to the ball housing? I am fitting a Westfalia next weekend and was wondering if I could get away without a cut. Dont want anything rubbing though.
