Wonder whether any adventurous Kuga owners have tried to fit a USB socket where the blank is? Was thinking that a USB connection may well be in the loom?     Appreciate any advice.      Bob.

I too missed out on getting USB, bluetooth. To be honest I don't use the phone that much.
I do fancy having all my music on a memory stick.

Kugababe has informed me of a "parrot" system that is available retrofit, though I haven't explored further as yet.

On another note, my lad is fitting a woofer to his DAB radio and we are going to take the Sony out to do that, also have a look to see if there is a USB socket of some sort on the back - after all, a trailing USB wire into the glove box is almost as good as having one in the central armrest. Taking the radio out will take place in a couple of weeks.

Thanks Digger for me a USB would be really useful for charging an I-pod. When Ford Customer Service contacted me Thursday? Re: Missing rear seat back trays I got the feeling Ford's response was it was, Oh we know still listed in current brochure and the salesman failed to inform you that  it had been withdrawn well TOUGH!  I mentioned why didn't Ford put something back in it's place   (a USB?)  No comment  The Ford Giveth and the Ford Taketh away.  I digress (as always) Listen Digger really  interested  what you discover when Sony DAB is removed,  much appreciated.  Regards.  Bob

Digger, did you ever take the radio out ? how easy is it and what did you find. I too am looking to install a USB for an Ipod, I keep seeing kits on the internet which require an external CD port on the back of the radio. Did you find anything like this on the back of the Sony DAB unit ?

Thanks

Hello Kugalady
Sorry I have not been "online" for a while. Life takes you on different paths at different times.

Anyway My son did take the DAB radio out of his kuga ( to fit some sub woofers?), I was going to assist but did not. He reports that there are NO sockets / connectors to easily enable USB or other peripherals. he has not yet fitted subwoofers and I have not done anything except ride around in my Kuga. Maybe in the summer??

I had retro fit of Parrot following delivery of vehicle..
Although its Parrot, FOrd did fit this, well paid for it anyway.
Got to say it is excellent...load of features.
Phone, this works really well. Mobile phone music can be played via Bluetooth and USB devices, as well as Ipods, Iphone mp3 etc.
The sound quality as really good as well, running through all car speakers..
