Had my Kuga 2.0 ltr AWD for 3+ weeks now and just phone call from suppying dealer to say that servicing intervals have been increased to 18000 miles or 2 years whichever comes first.
This applies to all 67plate KUGAS and FOCUS MODELS.

Remember to get that in writing, a phonecall sounds pretty lousy, normally you get a letter from Ford, when they alter something or want you to come in for a service, so..

The new service intervals were mentioned on here by someone a couple of months ago. Their query was what happens with the 12 months free AA assistance you get following an annual service.

A lot of manufacturers have been lengthening their service intervals to two years 18 & 20,000 Miles probably to stay competitive with fleet buyers and reduce leasing costs.
I would still change the oil & filter annually if you own your car & you intend to keep it for a few years especially if you tow with it.

I'd still prefer an annual service. A stitch in time etc..

Mine Kuga registered May 2017, 17 plate. I have not received any contact from Ford, my Kuga is a mobility car, mobility are the registered owner and hold the log book.

Checked with ford dealer who confirms that my 67 Ecoboost Kuga first service will be due at 12 months Oct 2018 or 12500 miles. Perhaps the change only applies to certain variants, diesel or 4WD maybe?

Had confirmation letter from Bristol Street moters today confirming my 2.0ltr AWD 180 Titanium spec is 18000 miles or 2 years service intervals as does ETIS.

I would still change the oil and filter at the half way point, it may get brownie points for Ford but 2 years is a long time for all the additives in the oil to remain active and not be evaporated away, especially on a diesel.
