Nick, I know what you saying about the bluetooth and voice control,  but most of the double din sat nav units have bluetooth built in,   and i had the RS focus that i just sold, i had the Ford satnav in that, and in the 15 months i had the car i only used voice control once,  it's too long winded to use.

...From one point of view this is true!In fact I also didn't use that much the voice control of my car.I think I would use it much more often though,if there was a Greek language option! But generally I like my car to remain with its original features and options as much as possible. On the other hand,as far as concern any modification I would like to make,I try to maintain as much original possible. This was also the primary reason I choose to install the original NX navigation unit, even though the most aftermarket units are significantly cheaper as well as much more technically advanced and with a lot more features like dvd player,DTV,remote control, real 3D mapping display e.t.c.
I though you were new to Ford vehicles.Great car the RS...!!So I suppose you switched to the petrol version of the Kuga (2.5T) to remain at a similar power level in your new 4X4 car as you were before.I pushed a "little" further my Kuga after a while installing a chip-tuning box & Mountune's intake plenum. Now must have a HP over 260 PS and it's absolutely magnificent!I just can't get enough of driving it!0-60 miles a tad over the 6 secs...top speed somewhere around 225km...!WOW!!

Cheers
Nick.

Hi Ian,

I installed my Blau NX unit last Saturday morning all by my self!It was peace of cake!It took me not more than 2 hours to complete the job.Everything works fine as it should.Even the GPS voice commands are fully functional, despite my doubts and concerns! No one could tell whether or not the car was fitted with the unit directly from factory! Only thing is I didn't installed the camera because I haven't received it yet.I installed the video cable though, so I don't have to remove the whole unit once more when the camera arrives.
Good luck with the rest of your installation!Tell me how it went if you have the time.

Cheers
Nick.

Hi Folks,

I've just ordered a 7" lcd screen and one of the numberplate light cameras. So in approx a month when it arrives from Hong Kong. I'll tell you what I think to it.

I'm not going to run the wires for the screen up to the front because I think it'll attract thieves that'll think it's a satnav screen? I won't stick my neck out until I'm sure it'll work where I intend to fit it but the short version is.... I'm going to try to use the tinted windows that prompted me to buy a camera in the first place, to my advantage Smile

Hi Dozers,

"Unfortunately" (concerning thieves of course...) I have already the 7" satnav installed.I'm still awating for the camera to arrive from Hong Kong too.Additionally I just ordered a set of rear parking sensors (Bosch URF7) which are according to my opinion the closest thing to the factory option. I think I would need them because the sensors can "see" obstacles better than a camera, even the smaller ones.Besides,at least for me and my personal driving habits, it's easier and more practical to hear first and then see the danger on my screen. Wink

Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick,

The built in satnav screen is fine mate but sadly another 7" stand alone screen for a camera on the dashboard would be a magnet for thieves here in the UK. I guess they'd be very disapointed when they found out it wasn't a satnav? However by then your car has a smashed window!

If my instalation goes to plan. I'll post a few pictures and a brief outline on how I did it. Not looking forward to pulling apart my new baby to carry out the install but as the saying goes "You can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs"  I hope to avoid the "Breaking" part of that saying though!?! Wink

Regards Jez
