Does anyone find the "click click" of their indicators whilst in operation to be very quiet? Twice recently I've found myself driving along the motorway with them on, and they're so quiet I havent realised.

Anyone know if they can be made louder?

What about fitting some lights to the instrument cluster?

Could be green and arrow shaped and flash in time with the indicators.

Of course there are lights on the instrument panel, and it's those that have alerted me to the indicators being on. It's just that the audible clicking is too quiet.

Hi KP,

It was exactly the same on my last Focus ('55-plate). I ended up fitting a 'trailer beeper' so that it beeped ALL the time my iondicators were on. It may have driven my passengers round the bend, and me up the wall because of their perpetual "What's that noise?" questions, bit I NEVER left my indicators on by mistake ever again!!

I agree, Ford have lost the plot in this area (amongst a few others!!) - what the h3ll is the point of dashboard indicator lamps that are too dim to be noticed (I now no longer even SEE the 'bl;ue' (Main Beam) indicator because it is so dim, and cannot 'see' the 'green, (Indicator) lampas because the steering wheel is in the way). If I knew that I could find an easy connection pick-up point, then I would have liked to have attached a solenoid to the indicators to 'knock-knock' on the steering-wheel drive shaft. At least that way I would be able to 'feel' the feedback.

In fairness though - I get a terrifying 'B - O - N - G' if my washer-jet fluid starts running low. I suppose that that incident is FAR MORE DANGEROUS than driving along totally confusing other road users around you, who are all cillectively thinking. "What direction is that tw4t in the Kuga ACTUALLY going to go in?"

Cheers,
Niall

I have done the same and noticed it when an irrate driver passes me with that 'you dipstick' look on their face after flashing me to come out and I havent responded, and the dash lights are to small, aannd I dont get a bong when my washers are low and the horn button is hard to press and when I ask for fan speed she wont talk to me    but I love my KUGA

The low washer level bong/indicator is only fitted to those Kugas with HID/xenons as they operate at higher temps than halogens I believe which, as I understand it, is also why it's EU law for xenons to have headlamp washers fitted.

Long gone are the days of a clunky relay in the dash clicking in and out.

I heard a rumour that the indicator noise is now artificial on modern vehicles, i.e. it comes from a speaker somewhere, but never really bothered looking for it.

But the chime on the Kuga is a bit alarming, especially when it moans about taking the key fob outside. Smile
