Hi,
I have just bought a new aftermarket headunit for my MK1 kuga and was wondering if its possible to use the existing mic fitted instead of the one that came with the radio. I was thinking of cutting the end of the new mic which is a 3.5mm jack plug, then cutting off the plug on the factory fitted mic and splicing the 3.5mm jack onto the ford mic.
Does anyone have any feedback on this or have done it ??
Was aslo thinking of doing the same to the usb cable.
Any help would be great
Cheers

Personally I would use the ones that came with the new head unit.

Because if it doesn't work you've done it for nothing and it may not again when if you reinstall the original , most aftermarket units have a mic in the unit itself as well as an external one.
MK1 CDTI Titanium with appearance pack and powershift. 150 bhp.
