Just checked and although it's the same spec as my 2010 model, my 2011 model has no net thing. will call the dealer tomorrow. Even though the tailgate window is tinted, can see into the rear hold.

Does that mean you have to go and buy a Kuga to fit on your thingy?

So we're not quite at the summarizing stage yet, but here's where I think we're at.

Some have got a thingy, some haven't.  One didn't know what a thingy was, and Kugaman1 apparently has a large thingy and a net thingy.  And it appears that having the appearance pack doesn't mean you shouldn't have a thingy.

I suspect that there will be quite a few requests in Ford on Monday for those that don't have a thingy.

And its all your fault for asking "what these two 'thingies' are for", If you hadn't asked, then us that didn't have the "thingies" wouldn't have been any the wiser.. Wacko

Apparently there is only one factory in the world that makes "thingys" for Ford and yes you guessed, it's in the same Merck Factory in Japan that also makes Xirallic Crystals for metallic paint.

Now they've made and despatched their batch of 2,000 tons of Metallic Red Paint for Ford, the next order to make is a container full of 250,000 thingys.... expect delivery sometime in November...

I could've gone into the dealer and asked but to be honest I doubt any of them would know, that's why I asked on the forum.  It's better than going to Ford.

Anyway, I feel like I've nearly provided a service. By making members aware of the two thingies that they may have never noticed before, they can now go and get a thingy to fit on the two thingies.  Like me.

Thanks for the welcome to hugakuga and Niall.

At the risk of continuing the debate..... Now that we've sorted the "thingys" out.... Are there any other thingamabobs I need to look out for ....?

On a completely different mundane note, how do I put a note at the end of my posts that says what type of kuga I've got ... When I get it !
