Getting around 38mpg avg - however have had 41.3 out of it on a run (@ about 75mph). It's only done 700 miles so should improve slightly as it loosens up. My wife's 55 plate Fiesta 1.4 Zetec (petrol) only averaged 42mpg, with a best of 48 on a run.
Overall impressed with the Kuga's figures - and I don't think thay're too far removed from the official figures (compared with what the Fiesta did/was supposed to do)

Yuip... 38ish for us too! Intentionally driving carefully to run the car in at the moment. Should see this go up a bit once the engine and workings loosen up a bit.

I'm such a bad boy..... gettting about 34 mpg in the countryside - far too impatient to run in. Anyway, was told they run better if you do give them some abuse in the early days..........believe that, you'll believe anything I suppose.... Still i've got one of those two year deals so I give it back in 23 and a half months anyway. I left a beamer boy racer standing at the traffic lights in the damp yesterday....... You're not meant to have this much fun in town in a 4x4! I was going to grow up, but the Kuga has been a bit of an elixir...

averaged just over 40 for my first 500 miles. Nice to hit the 40's but I have been in running in mode so I don't expect that will last.

Maybe we should take a look at wheel size here to see if there's a pattern? The Focus Econetic has skinny wheels to help its MPG figures. Personnally I would not sacrifice cornering and braking performance for fuel economy!!! Spose they'd be good in the snow tho!
I'm getting 38ish with 18"ers and careful driving. How big are ur wheels Palder?

Picked mine up from Jennings 3 weeks ago and the first tank gave me 33mpg, Last Sunday I took it to scotland with 4 adults in and 4 mountain bikes on the back, it averaged 34mpg. Its now got 2000 miles on the clock and fuel consumption has decreased to about 37mpg, not quite the 44 quoted by ford but its still running in.
Give us a flash if you see a silver zetec flying about. |

Mine was getting approx. 34 mpg around the doors for the first 1000 or so miles.
Now after 2000 miles that has risen to 36 mpg for the same journeys. (Had a run up the coast on saturday, 100 miles and was getting 38-39 mpg at a steady 70 mpg on the A1).
Still nowhere near the claimed Mpg, but it is getting better?
