I did have this problem just a few days ago. I just got my Kuga a week ago and fitted the mud flaps. The washer is far too big and would not come off. I did eventually get it off using a cutting disc on a dremmel. I had to reuse the screw as the kit only came with one screw for the rear flaps and it needed two.

wondering if anyone else had this problem?

Yep. Exactly the same. Cut off the washers and everything fitted fine.

I guess, mud flaps will be my next "extra".

I can get each pair (front and rear) at € 31,48 each, that would be ~ GBP 25,75 /pair.
Is this ok for the Ford genuine parts?
