Hi Rampman, personally I don't think I would  buy one??   but I think a 7yr manufacturers warranty should be a wake up call to the likes of Ford and all other mainstream carmakers.  A Kia 2011 taster.

Hi

Just had my gaiter replaced and my Kuga is only 10 months old! I also had the mirror side repeater lens replaced too!

Thankfully,  I knew about the 12 months trim limit from passed cars, if it's an expensive part it's worth getting on to Ford and asking them to cough up! It does work especially if you push them and accept their first offer!!

Hi bobuptown

It was letting water and condensation into the indicator lens, so they changed it under warranty.Thumbs Up

Today you would not get away with say a roof, pair of shoes, or a kettle that leaks,.  Lets be fair sealing a unit whether it's a headlamp/rear light cluster or mirror/indicator housing, is not exactly rocket science, even a politician should be able to do it.  And if there are massive failure rates (and by all accounts, there are ) then hold your hands up and extend the warranty to address these problems. With all this mass hysteria caused by Toyota (got it in again) manufacturers seem reluctant to "come out" and respond positively, so it's our task if you like, to give them a prod, and remind them of there responsilities, 12 months in my opinion is totally unacceptable.

Agree with the attached but as said on another thread if these issues are not properly logged with Ford customer services then there is no accountability.
Bob, did you get all your issues sorted to a satisfactory conclusion

Hi kugawill  Have a few outstanding issues but to be honest gave up with selling dealer, once he had my money he kind of lost all interest. Problem was it was getting to me spoiling the enjoyment of the Kuga, so I decided to take a deep breath and calm down and try and find another dealer to resolve outstanding issues. Recently contacted a local dealer, however seems I might have a slight problem, selling dealer still has parts on order, and I don't want to go back there, so tiny steps at the moment progress is slow in finding a resolution.

Hi Bob, sorry to hear that these niggles are still with you, i have had similar but smaller niggles, drivers window kept bouncing back, buzzing from instrument dash and wheel centre caps perishing. All sorted now, but not without staying calm and being firm and persistant with the dealer. If its any comfort keep plugging away because your the owner of a great vehicle and alls well thats ends well.

UPDATE:

Ford have agreed to replace the said part even though its outside of the "12 month" warranty.

And for one Kudos to the lad at Ford Customer Service for phoning me several times in the last week to sort it all out and confirm Ford will cover the costs!Clap
Was driving a fully loaded Vision Blue TDCi Titanium AWD...Now driving an Ice White S-Max Titanium X Sport TDCi with plenty of toys too! But keeping a close eye on the next Kuga!
