Welcome to our little 'club' FeeFie.
Where did you buy your Kuga? Have you tried speaking nicely to the Dealer? Cheers, Niall |

Hi Guys, my Kuga has same problem with Gear gaitor. I decided to take this up with Ford complaint dept. wrote them a letter, referencing this forum.
They stated they werent aware of the problem. But I have been instructed to go to my dealer and see the manager who would get the issue fixed.
By the way my car is 09 plate , done 33k miles and is 2.5 years old.
I know trim isnt covered, but in my view this is a design fault and doesnt occur on their other models so why should Kuga owners suffer.
Guys make them aware , write in to Ford Customer relations centre, PO Box 7597, Daventry NN11 1DL

@ Kua77: : "they weren't aware of the problem" That's a bit rich considering that, in the past, they have been known to authorise replacements outside the 1-year 'trim warranty' at a specially reduced price.
Certainly, I would never argue against 'fair wear end tear' exclusions - but this is NOT a 'wear and tear' issue - it is a design (material quality and suitability) issue that renders the products (the gaitor, in this case) "not fit for purpose".
Take them to the small claims court, with the case evidence provided here on the forum, and they should lose quite easily. They won't let it get that far, of course, because they would not survive the negative publicity. They would 'settle' long before it came to that. They rely on the 'sufferer' not being willing to pay the £30-odd 'fee' necessary to serve them with the legal claims papers in the first place. Remember, it is NOT a 'warranty claim' if you are claiming taht the gaitor was never fit for purpose in the first place - so your claim is against the manufacturer, not the dealer. You just need to stand firm, and get some good advice from the Citizen's Advice Bureau. Best of luck!! Cheers, |

Guys, dealer fixed free of charge in half an hour, you really must write to Ford and complain, I got a response in 3 days, replaced in 5 days. Dont give in or pay any money.

Hi mine went to got a new one off eBay quit easy to replace but watch the plastice square old gaiter attached to has does break very easy
Most of the trim just pulls out gear knob just turn anti clock to get off . Be gentle when taking staples out has the plastice tends to break very easy and I don't know if ford sell this part on its own |

Some pics (I think) for a gear lever gaiter replacement
Пришлось разбирать. Оказывается там даже лежит заводская шумоизоляция. А сам ездил вот с такой палочкой:) And here's the wand traveled:) Для пошива нового чехла пришлость разобрать куртку жены, т.к. в Печоре кожу не продают!
To produce a new shroud prišlost′ disassembled jacket, because in Pechora they don't sell the leather! In the Studio I sewed this čehol′čik! And now he has a line of stitching to match the seat in white!
