If you use the search facility for Roof rails you will come across a whole list of posts about roof rails, even a downloadable instruction sheet in PDF.
Basically just pull off the 4 end caps (tight fit) and remove the 8 screws (2 under each cap) and remove rails. Easy.

I quite like it actually - though I would delay final judgement until I saw it in the flesh.

I believe the Focus RS500 was wrapped.  Apparently it was manufactured as Matt Black and then wrapped as Matt Black.  The purpose ?  Not a clue.  Only thing I can think of is that it gives you the option of different finishes - a bit like wood veneer.

Could be the next big thing or cars !!  Does anyone remember vinyl roofs ?  What was the purpose of them ?  I can remember having one put on my Mk3 Cortina !! Ahhhh memories !

I had a Vinyl roof put on my old 1974 Hilman Avenger.

What was the purpose someone asked?

The roof went rusty after about 15 months so I red leaded it and stuck a Vinyl roof on.
I also had a go faster stripe down the side. Why. Some dear keyed the car along its length in a German car park. I couldn't geta paint match even after 9 months.
