Yes I did end up paying a bit more but after looking at two others I was happy to pay the extra few quid, this one is better spec'd but ended up breaking my budget slightly but was worth it

JonD This is not good.   A North West Ford Dealer?  A name or initials perhaps.

To say I was not very please would be an understatement, they're not a million miles from us in the north west, having said that they are a national dealer ! once I have my deposit back tomorrow I will name and shame.

Sorry to read of your problems JonD, GOOD FOR YOU, customers should NOT be treated like this. Surely someone from Ford must read the posts on this forum. highliting the disparity of service owners and potential customers experience from thir own dealers. Come on FORD get your act together, customer service is an IMPORTANT issue. I hope the extra pounds you have spent JonD will be worthwhile and you can join the majority on the forum who love their Kugas.

Sorry JonD,  I thought the refund had been secured. Had a Honda previously the car was brilliant, problems began however when my original selling dealer had closed down, and a large local multi franchised dealership serviced it, oil was spilt and just left over the engine, washer fluid was not topped up, and the monkey who was let loose on the vehicle left his greasy mitts all over the steering wheel/controls/door handle in addition he also left a little parting gift on the seat, the service included a courtesy mini valet (wash) which was not carried out. When I  informed the dealer they told me that the valeters and technicians had all gone home,  but he promised they would investigate.  When I arrived home Monday evening after the weekend they had left an ansa phone message and insisted all work is checked and then double checked prior to release, and concluded by stating "the matter is now closed"  I had to contact the dealer again because I discovered purely by chance that the service book was missing, they said they would post it to me. The car was traded in for the Kuga 12 month's ago now and guess what? I'm still waiting for the service book. Clearly this dealership who's HQ is North of the Border do not like complaints or criticism, no matter how justified.
