As I am also from Reading, I am sure I've seen your Kuga. I would warn against attempting to force switch the AWD on, as you do not know what damage you could cause to the mechnicals by doing this.

Depending on how the system operates, you could cause severe transmission issues.

I recall reading not to use 4WD on my Frontera on the tarmac due to transmission windup. While I know the Kuga system is different, and technology has moved on, let the automatic system do it's thing.

I would n't want to buy a car that someone has been tinkering with the AWD system.

From Reading and my Zetec is Ocean Blue :) Just looking to see if anyone has any sort of software hack to allow manually switching of AWD. :)

Hi Andy and big welcome. I have got to admit that I was never a "Ford" man but the blue oval badge has done us proud with the Kuga Big smile
 
Just as a matter of interest, where are you from and what colour of Kuga do you have ?
