I tend to use the grey key to open the bonnet as it's far easier to open with that instead of using the short stubby key.

I thought it would slot into the fob as well but sadly doesn't. I find it a bit awkward to get the bonnet open with it as the black bit isn't that big to get hold of to turn it.

Its designed for emergency use and for opening the bonnet.  Most models now use the same keyfob style

hello,
I have tried this myself, however I believe the key is used on its own.

This afternoon I had a little problem with locating my Kuga Embarrassed but that's a different story LOL. I had to take the "key blade" out of the fob in order to try and open the door.

My question to all you learned peeps out there is this.....Is the retractable key blade meant to be used on it's own or can it be inserted into the fob to make it look like a normal key ?

I tried for about 5 mins to fit the blade into the fob but failed miserably.
