Yes Bob. I thought about waiting for the new Kuga2, but a combination of bad back, dodgy left foot and a general air of laziness setting in (age thing don't you know), the pull of the powershift and a cracking deal forced my hand. I will have a good look at the Kuga2 when it eventually gets here and give it some time to "bed in" before I make any decisions about it. I'm always a bit wary about new cars to the market and I feel "early adopters" tend to be used as an extended trial by manufacturers to iron out faults. I had a really good look at the Evoque and still hanker after it's looks, but reading their forums, there are some very unhappy bunnies on them. Apparently fuel consumption is abysmal, waiting times ridiculous, quality issues and their customer services/sales are pretty poor. Quite frankly, I found it no better to drive than the Kuga, and the deal would have cost me £10k more and £450 a year to service ![]() JLR seem to still have a way to go before they can compete with the likes of BMW, AUDI and the like. I know they're not perfect, but JLR need to get their finger out.

Well malph sorry to hear about the dodgy left foot but I have got some good news, Kuga with powershift is absolutely brilliant, Mrs Bob got a Tiguan DSG (new pre-reg old 6 speed Summer 2011) and it's 2.0 litre lump is very noisy, windows open/from outside, Tiggy's ride is really hard too whilst Kuga's ride is much more relaxed and refined. With AWD and Powershift MPG figures are fairly unremarkable but I think it's all worth it, stop/start is on the way and perhaps a hybrid.During a recent trip to Cornwall, for my first time ever it was cruise on, both hands on steering wheel and all feet off the pedals. At 6 ft tall Evoque is too small in terms of the height for me, and the comments you made about LR build quality and reliability issues is something that they just cannot shake off, which is a real shame, it looks good but more importantly it's British made. Don't know if you've seen this youtube video on the new Kuga
Looks a little longer than my Kuga. Might be able to fit more stuff in the boot...
I like the way she kicks her foot under the car to open the boot lid. Edited by kpnuts - 29 Feb 2012 at 8:23pm |

Yeah the boot and the rear bench has more space than the current model. The waistline is slightly higher too.

Loving the sunroof (so much better than a Pano) Hope we get the same spec on UK models.

Agree about the sunroof, but I really hope that they keep the split tailgate.
