Unfortunately I'm not quite sure if I ever tried to engage the Voice Control with my Sony DAB unit during the 1 month period from when I picked up the car.Nevertheless,I think I must have done it and worked fine.Otherwise I would be aware of the problem earlier. In any case I'm not quite sure if it worked with my Sony.

If it's actually an incomatibility problem with my bluetooth module, then how come the phone connection works perfectly fine with my NX and I could be heard from the one I'm calling to?Or this is something irrelevant?Because of the same reason I'm also sure my mic is working fine.

The language on my NX is set to "English", the same as the car system is set through the associated menu setings.I didn't tried though, to set the car's system to another language and set the same language to the NX too and see what will happen.

Of course I don't talking Greek to it!I wish I could though.I thought once, maybe my accent was the reason for the Voice Control commants I speak not to be heard or "understood" by the system. So I tried to enter an easy command like "Help" but to no avail.Again what I said was heard by the system as "Cancel".

What do you think about the NX pairing with the car's system? Is there a possibility for the problem to be sold if I do it?Yesterday I entered the NX's "Antitheft" menu and there isn't any VIN number in there.Maybe if I enter my car's VIN there the problem will be solved?

Thanks for the help KS,it's appreciated.

Nick

If you have the voice control stalk on the steering wheel then it's a microphone issue.

There are different mics for bluetooth phone pickup and voice control.

Lookup Mondeo voice control upgrade on Google then check if you have a mic next to the rearview mirror.

If you do then it's just a matter of swapping the wires on the quadlock.

KS.

I wasn't aware of this!I thought VC and phone use the same mic!And yes,I certainly have the voice control stalk on the steering wheel's left side. Then the mic I have next to my rear view mirror is just for the VC only!

Yesterday I also tried to see if the problem persist when a different language is used (Italian). It was the same! The system acts like it's totally deaf,it can't hear any of the commands I say to it.

Let's hope it's just a mic issue.I'll check it out!

Many thanks KS
Cheers

Hi everybody,

is there any chance for anyone to know if a special wiring jumper ("8 pin microphone") is needed to be installed on the Kuga for the Voice Commants to work when a Blaupunkt NX is installed in place of other Ford sound units?

On the S-Max and the Mondeo this "8 pin microphone" (finis 1474203 or 1469532) P/N 19Α391Β must be installed in place of the P/N 19Α391A which is described as "4 pin microphone", otherwise the Voice Control doesn't work. The new wiring jumper is shown here:

It's the same on the Kuga? And if it is,will the same part do the job or there's another P/N for our cars?

Any help welcomed.

Nick
