Got a 2WD Kuga Titanium with 19'' wheels, really impressed with the car over last 11k miles from buying new.
Only issue I have is the awful noise generated by the tyres, Ford have issued a dealer TSB about this and the rectification is replacement of the tyres, sounds great, but mine have been on 'back order' for the last 4 months! My dealer says that they are constantly calling Bridgestone but no date for delivery yet, I contacted Ford Customer Care and thay are not interested as it is a 'Dealer Issue to resolve' some customer care service that is! Angry At this rate the tyres will be worn out (is it a deliberate ploy to say they are on back order so I end up replacing the tyres myself?).
Anyone else had this issue? Anyone offer advice on way forward with Ford/dealer?

Hi Rosky. Bought my wife a 2 wheel drive titanium 2.0 diesel around 16 months ago. It has 19 inch wheels and came shod with bridgestone tyres. I replaced the two front tyres 3 months ago at 15000 miles. I had the exact same bridgestone tyres fitted at a cost of £465 if memory serves me correct. After a couple of weeks my wife mentioned a rumbling sound coming from kuga. I took it for a drive and thought it was a front wheel bearing though the noise was still there at low speeds. I finally got around to taking it into local ford dealer today and after a long test drive the foreman declared that the hum/rumbling sound is from the bridgestone tyres. There was never any noise from the identical set that came on the vehicle. Anyone any idea what i should do? Has anyone tried Hankooks?

I have Hankooks (as new equipment), as do others with recently-built cars.  I cant say noise  has ever troubled me, but they are only on 17" rims, which I suppose will make a difference

Been back to dealer and 'wo and behold' the tyres have come into stock at Bridgestone, they will be at my dealers next week (will believe it when they are on the car). Hopefully job sorted and noise will be gone, will report back when fitted.

Hi Rosky
My new Kuga is AWD but I have begun to get road noise after 5000 miles or so. My 19" tyres are also Bridgestone so I assume they must be  these Dueler H/P Sport that Bridgestone recommend for the Kuga. Must have a proper look if it ever stops raining ! ( Strange no Winter Option in this size from Bridgestone ?)

My local dealer much respected techie told me it was tyre noise and not wheel bearings as it gets noiser on rougher roads especially at low speeds. Only the rear tyres have been feathering on the inside and outside edge as if they had been under inflated...but never have. As on both edges it is not the rear tracking but he could feel those edges were uneven wear/ lumpy hence the noise. This rumbling noise is a real pain and seems to be something you are supposed to live with !

However one of the other posters thinks there is a Technical Service Bulletin about this problem ( maybe 52/2010) and tyres will have to be changed pending Bridgestone. So the question is how do we get sight of such a bulletin to help us with the dealers ?

Good luck and let me know how you get on.
E Tyres describe ( same tyre is it ? )

"The Bridgestone Dueler H/T 840 is a 4x4 tyre that offers great dry traction, especially for on-road driving.

The tyre is very quiet and responsive.

Wet traction and tyre life suffer slightly in favour of dry performance and grip."

Can anyone post this Tech Bulletin on 19" Bridgestone Duelers please?
This noise, especially on N/S/F is driving me mad. Local dealer say its not wheel bearing but tyres, but no mention of any Tech Bulletin.
If I've got hard copy I can go back there, but doubt they'll do owt after 16k, then again got car at year old with 14k on it .

Guess what? Tyres didn't turn up and Bridgestone now say that they are going to send a 'technician' out, he can't get to my dealer until 10th Feb so will have to wait and see what happens.
I'm sure they are waiting for the tyres to wear out so I end up replacing them rather than Bridgestone, Ford of no help whatsoever- usual crap service!

Any recommendations of make of tyres to replace the 19'' Bridgestones???????

Pirelli Zeros or Hankook....... check Camskill website for good prices and stock - the Zeros are superb but pricey. I've used them a lot in the past. Hankook have a good reputation as well. Saying that, Bridgestone are normally excellent too - I wonder if this was not a primary tyre issue but rather a really poor tracking set up by Ford, which damaged the tyres causing uneven wear etc.  Holding my breath for my own 19"s, luckily its a company car, but still dont want to waste money.
